Our recruitment firm is representing a growing organization seeking a senior Telecommunications Engineering Specialist to support a mission-critical Army Voice Modernization effort. This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced telecom engineer who wants to work on secure voice modernization, SIP interconnection, Ribbon Federal Edge deployment, and emergency communications systems that support life-safety operations.
This role is ideal for a hands-on engineering professional with deep VoIP, SIP, Session Border Controller, and E-911 or PSAP integration experience. The selected candidate will help ensure reliable emergency call routing and secure voice connectivity across complex federal and Army communications environments.
What You’ll Do
- Support Ribbon Federal Edge gateway deployment, integration, validation, and readiness activities.
- Engineer SIP interconnections, policy routing, and secure voice connectivity across mission-critical systems.
- Analyze and troubleshoot E-911 call flow issues involving VMOD, DISA VISP, and Army PSAP environments.
- Identify technical risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and support issue resolution during deployment.
- Coordinate with technical stakeholders to ensure reliable emergency communications integration.
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of telecommunications engineering experience, including 5+ years in VoIP/SIP engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Ribbon Communications, Sonus, or Genband technologies.
- Strong experience with Session Border Controllers, SIP signaling, SIP interconnects, and policy routing.
- Experience with E-911, PSAP integration, emergency call routing, or NG9-1-1 environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot VoIP and network issues using Wireshark.
- Active Secret security clearance required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, IT, or equivalent experience.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
This is not a routine telecom support position. You will contribute directly to secure communications modernization and emergency call routing capabilities that support defense readiness and public safety. For a senior engineer who thrives in technically complex, mission-driven environments, this role offers the chance to make a tangible impact where reliability, security, and precision matter most.
