PMC1089 Associate, Mechanical Engineering Lead (Hybrid; Houston, TX)

Pink Moon Consulting is partnering with a global engineering and design consultancy to identify an Associate, Mechanical Engineering Lead for its Houston-based healthcare team.

This role offers the chance to lead sophisticated healthcare projects, strengthen client partnerships, grow a high-performing mechanical team, and advance sustainable building systems that serve patients and communities.

What You’ll Do

• Lead multidisciplinary healthcare design projects as Project Manager and Mechanical Lead.
• Direct the design of HVAC systems, including airside, hydronic plant, and specialty exhaust systems.
• Own project quality, commercial performance, client relationships, and coordinated design delivery.
• Lead, mentor, and develop engineers, with potential responsibility for the Houston mechanical team.
• Support business development through proposals, pursuits, contract negotiations, and repeat-client growth.
• Integrate sustainability, decarbonization, resilience, and energy performance into project solutions.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering and an active U.S. Professional Engineer license.
• 12+ years designing building HVAC systems, including substantial healthcare experience focused on inpatient critical care environments.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary projects and managing complex, large-scale client relationships.
• A demonstrated record of work-winning, commercial foresight, and team leadership.
• Knowledge of relevant codes and standards; LEED or WELL credentials and energy-modeling experience are preferred.
