PMC1087 Real Estate Tax Associate (Onsite; Homewood, IL)

Pink Moon Consulting is partnering with an established and growing Illinois law firm to identify a Real Estate Tax Associate for its Homewood office.

This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who wants to build meaningful expertise in property tax appeals, valuation strategy, and economic development incentives while managing substantive matters and developing trusted client relationships.

What You’ll Do

• Draft, file, and manage property tax appeal complaints, briefs, evidence, and related legal documentation.
• Analyze assessments, valuation histories, and supporting records to develop effective appeal strategies.
• Support complex development matters involving new construction, rehabilitation, demolition, and tax objections.
• Manage appeal dockets and assist with hearings, settlements, refunds, court calls, and document production.
• Advise and communicate with clients while coordinating with appraisers, attorneys, county representatives, and other stakeholders.
• Develop experience with tax incentive programs, including Class 6b, Class 7, Class 8, and Tax Increment Financing.

What We’re Looking For

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and an active Illinois law license in good standing.
• Two or more years of property tax appeal, real estate, or municipal development experience preferred.
• Strong legal research, persuasive writing, analytical, and business communication skills.
• Ability to interpret assessment and valuation information while managing multiple deadlines independently.
• A proactive, polished professional who learns quickly, exercises sound judgment, and is committed to excellent client service.
